Our shelter relies on volunteers.
What is more rewarding than making a difference in an animal's life? You can volunteer in so many ways - from answering phones at your home, to fostering dogs that need that extra TLC. Some of our volunteers only have a few hours once a week to dedicate and others help out by transporting our dogs to the vet to be spayed or neutered.
We appreciate all that they do. It's a great way to make friends who love dogs and feel good about helping out. If you are interested please let us know!
To volunteer at the Meridian Animal Shelter, you must be at least 18 years old and have a valid Idaho driver’s license. We ask that our volunteers commit to a minimum of six volunteer hours per month so that we can provide the best possible care to for the Meridian Shelter animals.
Volunteer opportunities:
Morning walking, feeding, and cleaning shifts
Evening walking shifts
Adoption shifts
Transportation of dogs to and from veterinarian appointments
Fundraising events
Off-site adoption events
Fostering of special needs dogs
Complete care of the animals impounded to the Meridian Animal Shelter is provided solely by the volunteers of the Meridian Valley Humane Society, thus dedicated people are very much in need.
